Fair Oak and Horton Heath Parish Council offers an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to join our team:

Parish Clerk (Full time 37 hours per week)

Salary: SCP 38 - 42 £33,437 – £37,306, depending on experience

Fair Oak & Horton Heath Parish Council is seeking to appoint an Executive Officer to serve as a Parish Clerk in the expanding community. The Officer will take overall responsibility for the Council’s day to day operations whilst helping develop and implement its future growth strategy and associated plans.

Working from the Council’s new purpose-built offices, applicants must be able to demonstrate a capacity to think and act strategically, have experience of administrative management; an ability to understand local government law and procedure; experience of line management of staff; financial management knowledge in support of the Council’s RFO; the capacity to successfully represent the Parish Council in discussions with external bodies and competent IT skills.

The Council is ideally looking for CiCLA or similar qualified candidates, but consideration given to anyone willing to undertake the qualification.

Administrative Assistant (Part-time 10 hours per week)

Salary: SCP 22 £11.02 per hour

To provide administration assistance to the Council in undertaking all bookings for the new Community Centre and Parish Offices.  The ideal candidate will have good organisational skills, be able to plan and manage working loads, be an effective team member and have good written and verbal skills. The hours required are to be worked during Monday to Friday.  We envisage that the hours will increase as the role develops.

Caretaker – up to 12 hours per week (working predominately evenings and weekends)

Salary SCP 15 £8.85 per hour

To provide efficient and effective caretaking support to the Council including ensuring the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas within the Parish.  Applicants must hold a valid driving licence.
